At Cliftons, we believe the most powerful experiences sit at the intersection of purpose, people and place. When organisations choose to celebrate, fundraise, or advocate for change, the environment matters just as much as the occasion itself. That belief was brought to life in an unforgettable way through our recent partnership with Everybody Eats, a social enterprise dedicated to serving nutritious meals with dignity and care.
As Everybody Eats approached its five-year anniversary, the team set out to do something bold: create a one-night-only fundraising event that honoured five years of impact, introduced new supporters to their mission, and raised vital funds to ensure their work could continue. This wasn’t just another dinner, it was an opportunity to tell a story, build community, and inspire action.
A Partner, Not Just a Venue
From the outset, it was clear this event needed more than four walls and a great view. Everybody Eats were looking for a partner who could help elevate the experience while staying true to their values of generosity, inclusion, and connection.
Cliftons Wellington was proud to step into that role.
Together, we curated Dinner in the Sky – an immersive dining experience hosted high above the Wellington skyline. The concept was ambitious, celebratory, and deeply aligned with Everybody Eats’ mission: creating meaningful moments around food, conversation, and community.
Every detail was considered to ensure the evening felt premium yet welcoming, special yet grounded in purpose. From guest arrival through to farewell, the experience was designed to encourage connection, reflection, and contribution.
An Evening Above the City
On the night, guests were welcomed into a vibrant atmosphere complete with live music, city views, and a sense that something truly unique was unfolding. Thoughtfully prepared canapés and drinks set the tone for the evening, leading into a three-course dining experience crafted by chefs Koji & Rosella Johnson MacDonald and Harri Fletcher.
Paired wines, an engaging raffle, and an elevated yet relaxed environment created space for guests to connect, not only with one another, but with the mission behind the event. The result was an atmosphere that reflected Everything Eats’ belief in generosity and dignity, while showcasing Cliftons’ expertise in premium hospitality and event delivery.
An official photographer captured the evening, extending the life of the event well beyond the night itself through powerful storytelling and advocacy.
As Everybody Eats Operations Manager shared:
“From AV, kitchen and bar to the ambience and views, the event felt special, unique and memorable.”
Impact That Extends Beyond One Night
The success of Dinner in the Sky went far beyond expectations.
Over 100 guests attended the celebration, contributing to an impressive $12,000 raised in a single evening. Importantly, the event also introduced more than 100 new advocates to Everybody Eats and deepened awareness of Cliftons as a venue that supports purpose-led initiatives.
Strong engagement from Everybody Eats’ Executive team has since sparked conversations about future collaborations, proof that when experiences are designed with intention, their impact continues long after the last guest leaves.
Why It Matters
This partnership is a powerful example of how premium experiences can be a force for good. When organisations, venues, and communities come together around a shared purpose, events become more than moments, they become catalysts for change.
At Cliftons, we’re proud to support organisations like Everybody Eats and to create spaces where impact and excellence go hand in hand.
