How have events evolved and what’s on the horizon

As Cliftons marks 25 years, we look at how the industry has changed.

The business world has changed a lot in the last quarter of a century, and events are no exception. Since Cliftons was founded 25 years ago, we’ve seen business events shift from in-person to now incorporating a range of technology platforms to allow for multi-location integration, a mix of digital and hybrid events, and more.

Audio-visual: Projecting a good image

Think about audio-visual presentations back in 1997. Overhead projectors with an upside-down or back-to-front transparency sheet that you could not manage to get the size right on the screen. Ah, memories.

And as for integrating the audio and the visual? Well, that required a team of expensive experts.

Fancy Powerpoint presentations started to get a bit more mainstream a couple of years later. Oooh, slide transitions. (Very trendy. Did you have a favourite?) But connecting to displays always (seemingly) involved a bundle of cables to find the right one and get everything hooked up correctly. And if it didn’t work, trying to get tech support was a nightmare.

Today, it is a very different story. At Clifton’s event venues in Sydney, we provide everything you need to plug and play on your audio-visual requirements, with a platform agnostic approach to fit your preferred technology platforms. Getting your presentation running smoothly – including options for hybrid presentations with live-streaming and on-demand playback – is simple. If things go haywire, we’ve got a dedicated on-site team to troubleshoot quickly and effectively.
